I’m Josh Dolgin from The Manderly Group, a Chicagoland multi-family investment, property management, and value-add construction company. We own and/or manage a portfolio of over 200 apartments on the Northside and in the suburbs and have renovated 150+ of them.
As licensed and insured General Contractors, for years we’ve been receiving calls asking us for renovation or handyman work. I’ve always said no and referred the business out. A few months ago I broke the seal to help out a good friend. He told another friend. He told his mother-in-law. The requests started flying in and I decided to dip my toe in. We have 15+ construction team members with a wide variety of skills so the resources weren’t a problem.
Since then we have performed renovation and handyman work at a restaurant, a school, a shopping center, countless homes, and even other multi-family apartment buildings. As of this week we have a new online booking section on our website Manderlygroup.com. Our approach is different in that we bill hourly as opposed to ala carte or overestimated full project fees.
